Albums and Scrapbooks Scrapbooking Tips and Tricks

Tips for making multable albums. If you are giving a scrapbook as a gift to more then one person or you need to make more then one book. Make one completed book and photo copy it. This saves time and money. Once you have the correct number photocopied go back through the book and switch out page so that everybook get a few handmade pages and a few photo copied ones. These add a more personal touch.

If you do not want to photo copy your book here is another way to get all our book done.

  • Take all the photos and organize them in to set for pages.
  • Coordinate all paper, page accents needed for the layouts
  • Print titles and journaling for the layouts.
  • Cut and apply all of the photos to the matts and any matts for page accents.
  • Then add everything to the paper and you have a finished set of book to give to as gifts.

***Always remember to write the dates on all photos or pages you are doing for someone else

Simple 6x6 album out of 2 sheets of 12X12 cardstock

  • Take the two card stock and cut them in half.... four half sheets (6x12 each).
  • Fold them in half to crease them, then open up... hold flush together and punch a hole on the creased mark in the middle... one hole on top, one on bottom.
  • Now place one strip of cardstock aside (for the cover) and with the remaining three sheets... trim on the remanding sheets about quarter of an inch from the width and a quarter from the height... this is so that the inside of the book does not show when it's closed.
  • Place these three (the inside) sheets on the side and get the cover sheets.
  • Now fold the cover in half. With your hole puncher, punch a hole towards the middle of the opening side this to for the ribbon to tie the book closed when you are done. Make sure the hole is punched at the edge so the book will close remember the in side pages were cut down.
  • Now assemble all four sheets together and with the fiber lace through the crease and tie a knot in the middle inside of the book. If you want the bow to be on the out side just lace it from the inside out. And you book is ready for photos.

Protect Your pages- If you scrapbook are over stuff or have bulky pages, invest in hole protectors/reinforcements to keep your pages and pre-drilled bindings from tearing.

While working on you album, put all the page in a tree ring binder. This will help you transport all your page and you can keep all of your unfinished and ready to be finished pages together. Once you get all your pages done then you can transfer everything in to your album. This works great for those of us who scrap out of order.
