Paper Clay Embellishments Make
your own embellishments and letters using paperclay~ using
rubber stamps you can stamp letters on the paperclay and air
dry then paint. Make different shapes and sizes-try using
cookie cutters too. Some clay you have to bake. Read the
back of the package and make sire it is safe.
Bottle Caps are one of the
latest thing in scrapbooking but if you don't like the bulk
in your scrapbook but love the look try flattening them.
Place the bottle cap on a pounding mat and gently tap the
center, once it has flattened flip it over and done. The
perfect place for a sticker or cut a circle the same width
of the bottle cap and place a letter or photo on it.
Bookmarks when making handmade
or digital greeting cards for loved ones, I often add a
bookmark to the design. Great way to use those tiny scraps
and is perfect to accompany a gift book.
If you have a gold and/or silver
brad, but need a colored one you can use embossing powder to
color it. Use a lighter or heat tool and hold brad with
tweezers at a downward angle. Light the lighter and put the
round end of the brad into the flame until black. Then
quickly and gently dip the brad into the embossing powder.
It will then melt and there you have it a colored brad. It
even gives it a shinny look. Also try spry painting them.
If you have a clip art program
for your computer, you can always use those cute little pics
for embellishments or tags or anything else your heart
desires!
If you spill your jar of brads
(like I did) on the carpet - instead of picking up each one
- get a magnet (the stronger the better) and pick them up
that way.
