Tips and Tricks
Clean scissors that get so
sticky with adhesives Use alcohol and a paper towel, to
remove the "gunk" and clean the blades. Be careful not to
cut through the towel to your fingers.
Use a lint roller brush (tape
kind) near your workspace. It will pick up your scraps,
glitter and powders from the table, chair and floor with
just a few strokes. It also helps save time over vacuuming.
Use baby wipes to clean the red
rubber and clear stamps. Baby wipes are usually alcohol
free, Alcohol can dry your stamps. If you have a stamp that
is really dirty and won't come clean with wipes, take an old
tooth brush (soft) and dip it in some vegetable oil and
scrub it. Then spray it with an off the shelf stamp cleaner
to remove the oily residue and wipe with baby wipe. Make
sure you get all the oil off or the stamp will get sticky.
Easy embossing powder and
glitter clean up. Tear out pages from old magazines. The
glossy (slick) pages work the best. Put a page down. Emboss
or glitter your project and then tap off the extra powder or
glitter on to the magazine page. Then roll it into a funnel
and pour the extra back into the container. The powder and
glitter don't stick to the magazine page. Then just throw
away the page, so you don't get embossing powder or glitter
everywhere.
Place a basket near your
workstation. While you are working on a layout and finish
using an item, place the item into your " put back" basket.
When you are finished with your layout, take your basket and
put each item away. Your work area will stay clean.
