Tips and Tricks
Adding buttons to your page,
It's easier to first sew the thread through your buttons and
then sticking them onto your page where desired than sewing
through the button and the paper.
Check garage sales and thrift
stores for bags of buttons, string and other items that will
work on scrapbook pages and cards
Look at local craft stores in
the sewing section for tubes of misc. buttons. I found a
large tube of a variety of sizes and colors.
look on old clothes or holiday
out fits to find the right button, usually cheaper to buy
the outfit and cut the buttons off then buy a package of
buttons depending on the button and the use you need it for.
This is a great tip when doing a heritage album if there was
a dress or sweater a grandmother always wore. Take a button
from the dress to add to her page to make it beautiful and
time less.
Tie the button with DMC floss,
then attaching them with glue dots.
Use glue dots (or zots) behind
the button and you can't see any adhesive.
If you are adding embroidery
floss, ribbon, fibers, etc. to buttons eyelets, or other
hard to thread items, try this. I use plastic loops for
dental floss. Put your fibers through the loop, thread the
end through the button hole and pull it through.
