Scrapbook Tips
Christmas
is over and now you want to complete that Christmas
Scrapbook to show off your wonderful memories of the
holiday season. We have compiled a list of
tips to help you create that perfect christmas
scrapbook.
Don't forget that we
have clipart,
quotes,
page titles,
fonts and
more for you to use as you
create your scrapbook.
Save that wrapping
paper!
Wrapping paper from
the gifts make a colorful and unique accent for your
pages. When matched up with photos of family
and friends opening the gifts with that specific
wrapping paper it ties is quite nice with the photos
on the pages.
Wrapping paper is
also decorative and you can cut out the images or
use pieces of the wrapping paper as tags.
You can also save the
gift tags and add them to the pages. For a
special touch, journal on the back of the tags.

Toys boxes are
sometimes better than store bought embellishments!
Colorful toy boxes
often have bright colored characters in different
sizes printed on them. Cut out the characters
or other parts of the boxes to add to the pages.
Try to avoid the use of pieces from corrugated
cardboard boxes because they will not lay flat on
the page unless you can peel the outer layer off the
corrugation.

Christmas Cards.
Have you ever opened
a Christmas card to find more than just a "Merry
Christmas" inside? Hand written notes inside
cards can be worked into scrapbook pages quite
easily. Handwritten notes inside cards are
like someone adding a journal entry into your
scrapbook.
If you do not want to
include the whole card, cut out the handwritten
portion or slowly tear around the outside of the
handwritten portion before adding to your pages.

Take lots of
photos.
Digital photos are
basically free. You can take as many as you
want (or at least as many as your camera will hold)
and only have to print out the photos you really
like. Sites such as York Photo will often run
deals giving you the chance to print your photos on
professional grade photo paper for less than $0.05 a
photo.
Don't settle for any
photo by having lots of photos of the same event to
choose from. 15 or 20 photos of a person
opening a gift can give you that many different
facial expressions or looks to choose from.

Pressed Leaves and
Flowers.
Mistletoe,
Poinsettias and all the other flowers that you may
get at Christmas time can be pressed and added to
your pages. To press the flowers, flower
petals or leaves, simply stick them in the middle of
a thick book and apply lots of pressure by putting
something heavy on the book. The paper will
help to draw out the moisture. The resulting
flowers or leaves will be delicate, but look nice on
your scrapbook pages.

Create your own
Scrapbook Paper using Wrapping Paper!
You have been looking
for that perfect Christmas scrapbooking paper with
no success. The day after Christmas last year
you picked up 10 rolls of beautiful wrapping paper
at 50% off at your local store. Why not use
the wrapping paper as your scrapbook paper?
What you will
need:
- That "ugly"
scrapbook paper that you know you will NEVER use.
Basically take a piece of paper that you KNOW you
will never ever use otherwise from that paper
bundle that you bought a while ago.
- Wrapping paper.
You will need enough to cover both sides of the
scrapbook paper that you will be using.
- Double sided tape.
- A pencil
- Scissors (straight
edge) or a craft knife and a ruler or other
straight edge.
- Start by laying
the wrapping paper down with the backside facing
up.
- Lay the scrapbook
paper on the wrapping paper and trace the outline
with the pencil. Repeat this process on
another portion of the wrapping paper. One
piece will be used for the front, the other for
the back.
- Use scissors or a
craft knife and a straight edge to cut the
wrapping paper. Take your time to make sure
you get straight edges. If you mess up and
do not want to cut another piece of wrapping paper
you can always position your embellishments,
photos, tags, etc. to cover up the little section
where you messed up as you create your page.
- Take the double
sided tape and place it around the border of one
side of the scrapbook paper. Place a couple
of strips in the middle of the paper to keep the
wrapping paper from bubbling up as people turn the
page when viewing your scrapbook.
- Carefully position
the wrapping paper over the scrapbook paper, being
sure to line up the edges. Start at one side
and slowly lay the wrapping paper down to help
make sure that the wrapping paper lays flat as it
sticks to the double sided tape.
- Once completed,
repeat the process for the other side of the
scrapbook paper.
- Enjoy! Don't forget that you can do the
same for Birthday Scrapbooks using the wrapping
paper from birthday gifts.
